Let the church- shopping begin

I'd done some research online for churches in the area before we arrived in Springfield. Driving around on New Years Day, I saw another church, Fairfax Community Church. We read their beliefs and decided to give it a go. We arrived to something slightly familiar - the exact same check in system as our church in AZ. I know it's trivial, but it made me feel a little better. Harrison went in to his class fine. Elijah was not so sure. Zachary, of course, walked right in.

The service had a very contemporary feel. The music was great, but just a little loud. The pastor gave a great message that mostly referenced the first few verses of John 15. I must admit, however, that I couldn't completely get into it. I kept comparing everything to Chandler Christian Church and looking at every unfamiliar face. I know it's unfair to compare the two, but I was.

When we picked up the boys, they all seemed to really enjoy it. And didn't seem too happy when we told them we might try a different church next week....of course, as we walked out of church and they were serving pizza, their choice was solidified! :)

On a weather note...we are freezing!!! I think when we left church it was around 25 degrees with a wind chill about 15 below that! Zachary and Brian were trying to put together the trampoline. They got most of it done, but stopped. SO cold. Maybe we will get used to it........sometime! :)
