My Newest Adventure

It has been a long time since I posted, and maybe I'll get around to a family update soon! I am currently writing about my newest adventure - soap making. I have started down this path for multiple reasons:

• I've always wanted to!
• I want some soaps where I know the ingredients...there aren't that many and are natural..and will hopefully be better for Zachary and Elijah's skin
• I'm hoping to also share these with others by selling what my family does not use!

I started simply with my first batch, but picked a scent that Zachary and I both really enjoy - honeysuckle! The above picture is while it's settling in its block form, which I will slice into bars tomorrow. Since it's a honeysuckle scent I put some yellow/white swirls in it! My recipe for the above soap 'loaf' included the following:

• almond oil
• cocoa butter
• sunflower oil
• coconut oil
• sodium hydroxide
• avocado oil
• sweet honeysuckle fragrance oil
• white/yellow powder colorants
