Tennis and back to gymnastics

With all the financial struggles we have been going through, fortunately, our boys' daily schedules have not been affected that much. Through the kindness of others, Harrison and Zachary have been able to continue (uninterrupted) in karate and gymnastics, respectively.

Zachary has had a 3 week break from gymnastics and started back tonight! He is now going 3 hours/day, 5 days/week for a total of 15 hours! He is very excited about this - but more excited that it is coupled with the tougher, Hungarian coach! As of right now, it looks as though he will be advancing again - this time to Level 6. He's been practicing with the Level 6 - 10 boys for a few months now. I think the challenge of working with them motivates him even more.

Harrison started a week long tennis class this morning. The city of Chandler offers so many inexpensive classes, we wanted him to try something. He has enjoyed hitting balls in the yard with Brian, so tennis seemed a natural choice. The class is 45 minutes long every morning this week. He seemed to have a great time and Brian said he connects with the ball pretty well. He also continues to enjoy progressing in karate. He is currently an advanced green belt working toward his brown belt. I think he is the youngest kid in his class. It's amazing how many moves and katas he can store in his brain! He knows all the moves so well; we just have to get him to work on positioning and crispness, I think. :)

Elijah continues to enjoy any kind of art project i can give him. I think that's why he asks me to go to the gym (not that I need any encouraging though!). The kids' area at my gym always has coloring and usually has some craft that he enjoys doing. So he'll do that for a while and then go into the back area to play some active games!

Once I figure this blogger thing out, I will try and post some pictures - though I guess most of you are up to date on pictures via facebook! :)
